Let go of control

When you start working with magic, you can come to a point where you think you’re in control of everything. In that case you don’t want to give up the control, even if you know that you should. There come times when you try “bigger” things and you fail in them, but other successes keeps you on this road.

The egoic mind can’t have this kind of power, the control over everything. This power is based on you, the attention, the formless, but since you experience a human life, you don’t have this control. You can say you have all the power and yet nothing in the same.

That’s why we bow our heads.

    My teacher and friend told me ones;
    “The fuller the rice stalk, the more it bows”

    I believe it is a Indonesian proverb.

    Anyway… I like to believe that this “desire to control” is one of those identifiers that shows us when Ego is at work.

    …and we have to experience it, really get to know it, so we can recognise it.

    The human desire of the “ego” to control, ultimately is about security. This is the adaptation we go through – letting go of control and manipulation.

    Is ego not all about security?
    Always striving…

    reminds me of maslov’s theory. Wonder how he looked at it. My guess is that this need for safety is more then only a need of the ego. Animals too, like to feel safe.

    Of course, but the difference is that the animals are aligned with life and surrendered. So if it comes, they let themselves go, die without any resistance.

    And the ego knows that death means it’s end. That’s why it searches for security always..

    Many animals are known to be very protective, even aggressive when they feel that their offspring is in danger. Most animals will try to protect themselves or flee when in danger.

    That’s why I like to believe that people are not only motivated by ego when they seek security and safety.

    There is a difference between a man seeking shelter, for example, in times of war and a man who feels he needs 10 insurance policies and all kind of material things.

    An other example; A few weeks ago I was not feeling very well. Stressed, sleepless, tensed. Turning back to meditation and ET, in way, was and is.. for me.. a way of finding and feeling safety again.
