Love by Rumi

I Know

You circle my heart, a blissful schemer.
What are you up to?
I know.

You have a secret design
for my bleeding heart and sullen face
I know.

Once you’ve stolen
mine and everyone’s heart
what will you do then?
I know.

By the warmth of my tear
and the chill of my fear
please go ahead and ask
if I know fire from frost.
Because I know.

My heart and soul ablaze
your skirt afire
consider the difference.

Pain knows about pain
flame knows about smoke
and woe knows rue
I know.

I whisper into my soul
Be patient, a real man.

My soul replies:
I am neither male nor female
and I know many heartbreakers.

My heart you ruffle like dust grain in wind
did you not promise
to lift ash from an ocean of flames ?

About Michaela

I am a wanderer and a wonderer, like you are. I love our journey and to walk in the company of friends – to learn, experience, share, laugh, cry and above all I simply love this marvelous, magical, mysterious life. I have no plan (cannot believe I am saying this) and my only intention is to be truthful to myself and others.
