Michaela, thank you for these wonderful posts about music. I love Daniel Barenboim, and I loved his late wife’s musical genius as well.
I do not ‘look’ the part of a classical music fan, but I am–most deeply. I can spend hours laying on the floor with headphones on, listening to classical music–transported past all thought straight into the heart of the sound, which fills me completely.
So thank you, again, for sharing your love of music with those of us who love it, too. Are you a musician yourself?
Hi Gale, Beethoven certainly opened doors for me that were previously closed. I found a depth I did not recognise before. And Barenboim’s earthy passionate expressive style matches the passion of Beethoven perfectly. This music is all very profoundly transcendental and sensuous at the same time.
And no, I am not a musician…just someone who listens to music all the time.
Glad you like it…
Yes, it is indeed transcendental and sensuous.
(I just noticed I failed to type the last ‘a’ in your name, so sorry.)
fixed it. 🙂
