It’s a PR campaign and it has several objectives: First of all it wants to portray the oil company Chevron as good corporate citizen, bringing wealth and health to people in third world countries ( like Angola). Secondly it caters to the needs of the conscious driver of automobile and/or frequent flyer and/or consumer of imported goods, that what they do is not only sticking with fossil oil, but by doing that they are supporting poor people in third world countries. Knowing what we know about oil companies – and its not all bad of course – but I have a problem seeing them as philantropists.
How much was that ad campaign ?
I would like to believe that this is more then only marketing.
But I do not…
