Imagine your life to be genuine and peaceful. Imagine to have access to a great power at your fingertips and to live in harmony with yourself and everyone around you. Imagine yourself having self-reliance and acting with enthusiasm and confidence.
Is this the life you are leading right now?
If it is anything other than the above, your life is lacking empowerment. It means that you do not yet have full access to the forces of the universe, much like a teenager wont be allowed to drive a car. It means that you have not reached spiritual maturity.
When we are children we lose our sense for unity, when we are teenagers we define ourselves by being separate and different. But in maturity we integrate our sense of being rooted in our true identity and a receptive openness to allow our human being to be shaped and to develop further. At no time we reach a state of being static – unless we close up and hold on to the false image we have built about ourselves.
Spirituality is a way of living. It is not about reaching a state of eternal bliss and peace. It means to reach a state of maturity and responsibility for oneself and the collective. It means to realise that one is not separate from the whole. If indeed you think you are different, than this is where you got stuck.
What is so difficult about leading a spiritual life? It is all about dropping expectations, ceasing to judge and stopping to ask why something happened. All we have to do is to start living by the guidance of the spirit in us and then it is one step after the other. Soon we will see the fruits of this endeavour – we are changing inside out and with us our world is changing. This is empowerment.
But to be empowered we have to go beyond our fear of the unknown. What is going to happen, if I change the way I am living my life ? We sense that the fragile construct of our environment may change with us. Lies will come to the surface, untruth will be exposed and I will have to give up control. My world may come to an end, or at least those parts that are not genuine or authentic.
And I will have to relinquish control. I will no longer know who I am.
And that is the ego’s terror of awakening.
In weakness, strength
The paradox of surrender for me is central to living in the timeless realm
Thankyou Michaela
Completely forgot that I wrote this thing…. 🙂
It was exactly what I needed today. Thank you Ray, for bringing it up !
