One afternoon I opened the entrance door of a rather dilapidated looking building, a few blocks down the road from where I live. I entered into an enchanted courtyard. This is where Beethoven composed his 3rd symphony (called ‘Eroica’) in the summer of 1803. Somehow time has forgotten this place. I sometimes go there to listen to Beethoven’s spirit that still lingers in the air. I never really understood his music – but now I can feel each stroke and it makes my heart dance.
Here are my own impressions from a couple of days ago:
( Music: Sonata for violin & piano No. 7 in C Minor (“Eroica”) Op. 30/2: II. Adagio Cantabile, L v Beethoven (D Barenboim, Pinchas Zuckermann)
Music with Passion
Beethoven Symphony No.3 ‘Eroica’ Mov.4 – Herbert v Karajan, Berliner Philharmoniker
Lotti goes Beethoven!
A wonderful composition of impressions and music.
Well done, Michaela!
