Convenience and Intuition

Schönbrunn, Feb 2012

A little teaching from Caroline Myss that leads to an important question: How much does my attachment to convenience and comfort compromise intuition ?

Enjoy

About Michaela

I am a wanderer and a wonderer, like you are. I love our journey and to walk in the company of friends – to learn, experience, share, laugh, cry and above all I simply love this marvelous, magical, mysterious life. I have no plan (cannot believe I am saying this) and my only intention is to be truthful to myself and others.

arrrgh! First john lennon is blocked in the US for copyright issues. Now the voice of CM is lost in the ethers somewhere.

I wasn’t particularly drawn to her teaching, but now I’m curious…..

I feel like a media junkie during a blackout.

    oh well.

hmmm. What does she teach? No longer clear to me.

I enjoyed a couple of talks I heard her give but that might have been because they were about her love for “Interior castle of St. Theresa of Avilla” and I liked the it too. I think that we may have understood it in very different ways.

This is a good example of what attracts me to, as a matter of preference, Gangaji, Mooji, Adya and ET…the likes of them….to me the listener…they go for the root…”Be here now.”…..not lost in the branches. Well not entirely true….Eckhart at least, him I have the most experience of/with, is inclined to give Caesar his due and encourage us that that is for most people necessary, otherwise we might be tempted to think that we are all enlightened.

Caroline?? Convenience and comfort vs intuition? Well that is a hallmark of most of Western Civilization – convenience and comfort – and it brings its own challenges. How about a conversation related to Sloth one of the deadly sins if anything other than to notice it as part of our ‘what is’?

But, even if modern life (alluded to in other parts of her talk) do result in separation from trust in our own intuition….is that the main problem? isn’t the main problem…an ever increasing identification with the human (the born on earth side ) of the human equation….our ever increasing unconsciousness, valueing, of Being and who or what I really am?

As for the teacup generation, who shatter at the first sign of difficulty,…. sounds like that is just another way for the light to enter- unique to that generatioon – problematic to ours . In that way nothing has changed in recent history.

Archetypes, did she mention them here? Didn’t notice if she did. I read my children fairy tales and myths and good stories from Madeline and Charlottes Web, to Lord of the Rings, Witch Lion and Wardrobe….lots of stories. We all enjoyed them but we didn’t talk about them….philosophize . I’m sure that many of those stories dealt with archetypes, i.e. formed pictures in quiet listening minds that spoke very directly to their souls strengthening real ‘values’.in each of us uniquely.

I really don’t know how to think about Archetypes but I do like hearing about them. Strange.

Oh yes. Cleverness can be fun but it is not the same at real intelligence and it is definitely not a virtue.

    Picky, picky….sorry…. : -)

Correction: …..our ever increasing unconsciousness and distraction; not valuing, of Being and who or what I really am, which is always there just waiting to be noticed? Even in a new born teacup.
