When the mind is still, it is the perfect mirror.

If there are no thoughts or ideas to cloud the image, the reflection is clear and undisturbed. A quiet mind is like the surface of a lake on a calm day. If it is holding thougths or ideas, the reflection gest disturbed and the image distorted.

It occurs to me that the mind reflects the surface, but the profoundness is mirrored in the depth of the heart. This is how we are meant to commune, to take in and reflect whatever appears in our space. To allow the image to be reflected perfectly in the mind and to deeply understand the nature of being, in the heart. To experience it in fullness.

This is what really means to love – to be completely open and receptive to every-thing around, to be able to conceive it all without perception and to reflect it, without the image getting disturbed by projection. This happens on the level of body, mind and soul – it is not separate, it just provides the different aspects of the whole and the holy.

This is the luminous trinity in us and the body indeed is the seat of the divine.

If that kind of kind of love awakens in the heart, then it truly is the end of separation. The unknown turns into intimacy, hesitation into courage, despair into faith. And this is how self-sufficiency is replaced by self-reliance – the unshakable knowing to follow one’s instincts, the guiding light of faith which is the prerequisite of surrender.

There cannot be ultimate surrender without self-reliance. It is not possible to bypass the instincts of survival. But to experience this love, this openness and this force of life flowing, this is even stronger than the instincts inherent to the mortal body and mind.

Each day there is a new discovery. Life is the mystery in plain sight.

About Michaela

I am a wanderer and a wonderer, like you are. I love our journey and to walk in the company of friends – to learn, experience, share, laugh, cry and above all I simply love this marvelous, magical, mysterious life. I have no plan (cannot believe I am saying this) and my only intention is to be truthful to myself and others.

Yes, yes, yes! When stillness arises, it is like a ray of sun from between the clouds. Before I can go deeper, the mind takes over “Ah, it is like this, yes, I read about that…” etc.
