If you love for beauty

I love the “Rückert Lieder” by Gustav Mahler. The 5 poems by the German poet Friedrich Rückert are of sublime beauty and Mahler’s music just gives them wings.

Enjoy

One thing

“He who would be serene and pure needs but one thing, detachment.”

In Mutual Embrace

Opposites (Photo by Solveig)

The desire in the female for the male
is so that they may perfect each others work.
God put desire in man and woman
in order that the world
should be preserved by this union.
God instills the desire of every part of the other:
from their union, creation results.

And so night and day are in mutual embrace:

they appear to be opposites, even enemies,
but the truth they serve is one,
each desiring the other like kin,
for the perfection of their work.
Both serve one purpose, for without night,
human nature would receive no income:
what then could day expend?

In need of a good cry ?

Crying – like laughing – is a wonderful way of letting go.

Laughing is easier for me, I am not much of a crier..

But this one seems to do the trick ..

So anyway, listen & cry with Des’ree

I’m Kissing You

Pride can stand a thousand trials,
the strong will never fall
But watching stars without you,
my soul cried.
Heaving heart is full of pain,
oh, oh, the aching.
‘Cause I’m kissing you, oh.
I’m kissing you, oh.
Touch me deep, pure and true,
gift to me forever
‘Cause I’m kissing you, oh.
I’m kissing you, oh.
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
‘Cause I’m kissing you.
I’m kissing you, oh.

Sometimes This, Sometimes That

I am this, I am that

I saw a tree and a fire, and heard
a voice that said: “I am the Beloved,”
calling me from the fire. Am I Moses?

I entered the desert in tribulation
and found there manna and quails.
It has been forty years now that like Moses
I have wandered in this desert.

Do not ask about the boat and the sea.
Come, behold that for years
I have been sailing my boat i this dry land.

Come, O Soul! You are Moses and in Your hand
this body becomes a staff,
and when You throw it, it becomes a serpent.

Deviantart

I usually bump into this site: Deviantart

It’s a site where people gather their works (mostly artworks and photos). It is quite pleasant to just browse trough them. A lot of them have great creative energy.

A beautiful example:

Triumph, rejoicing…

One of my absolute favorites

The Christmas Oratorio

Translation:

Triumph, rejoicing, rise, praising these days now,
Tell ye what this day the Highest hath done!
Fear now abandon and banish complaining,
Join, filled with triumph and gladness, our song!

Serve ye the Highest in glorious chorus,
Let us the name of our ruler now honor!

Compassion

“You may call God love, you may call God goodness. But the best name for God is compassion.” Meister Eckhart

Contemplate this quote. I came upon it today and it struck a chord in me. I sat there for quite some time,  took it in and then it’s meaning revealed itself: Compassion is a quality of Love. It means the essential Goodness in us, this genuine impulse to help others in a utterly generous and completely selfless way. Our true nature is to be perfectly generous. There is nothing we would not give to  another, refrain from doing for another or withhold from each other. It seems to be completely natural, because how can I withhold something that my brother needs, without depriving myself of the same. How can I not reach out and give freely what is in my power to give.

Losing presence

Are you afraid of losing presence?
You are presence itself. And therefore you are always present. You just have to get your attention back here and now.

You can’t lose it.
