I love the story of Cyrano de Bergerac. A wonderful, inspiring drama of love, war, deceit and sacrifice – and the power of poetry. This is the scene of Cyrano’s death and it is a beautiful teaching…Enjoy
Here’s a bit more…
Hercule Cyrano de Bergerac, is a brash, strong-willed man of many talents. In addition to being a remarkable duelist, he is a gifted poet. However, he has an extremely large nose, which is a target for his own self-doubt. This doubt prevents him from expressing his love for his distant cousin, the beautiful Roxane, as he believes that his ugliness forbids him to “dream of being loved by even an ugly woman.” A wonderful, touching, insightful teaching of how one man’s belief was the cause for unhappiness, for himself and in others. So ask yourself, if your beliefs are really just the cause for your own unhappiness or if you are dragging others along, in what you believe is your own misery. ”
