The megaphone

The media, war on terror and failing to ask the tough questions.

About Michaela

I am a wanderer and a wonderer, like you are. I love our journey and to walk in the company of friends – to learn, experience, share, laugh, cry and above all I simply love this marvelous, magical, mysterious life. I have no plan (cannot believe I am saying this) and my only intention is to be truthful to myself and others.

The fact is that the voices on this clip were always here and speaking out, Amy Goodman, Democracy Now, Cair. It is easy to forget that there were huge demonstrations here and abroad against going to war with Iraq even after Colin Powell’s apparently ‘convincing’ speech at the UN. Just as there have been huge demonstrations in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Ohio against the union busting, voter disenfranchising legislation that is being enacted across this country. The voices of social sanity are there/here but it is as if they are talking into the wind. Is consciousness really arising in a general way here? If so is it arising fast enough to tip the balance or will the forces of egoic consciousness win out? They seem to have the power of money at their disposal.

I think I need Marianne Williamson to give me a pep talk right now.

Yes, I wonder about this too. We do not hear of civil discontent, even though its becoming so clear what has been going on. What happens, changes what happens next is coming to mind. When will they reach critical mass and supersede the sanitized voice of the media ?

I think what we do here may not look like it is much, but is is still an attempt to bring light into darkness. We have to understand we are not alone in this. We all have the power to change everything and we never know who is going to read our words…and act on it.
